What is Rewards type?

In short

What a card gives back for spending, either cashback or no rewards scheme at all.

The rewards type says what a card pays back on spending. Cashback returns a share of what you spend as credit to the account, usually in the same currency. Some cards run with no rewards scheme, so spending earns nothing. 1822direkt lists none on its card, as do the ABN AMRO business cards, with none. Absa offers cashback instead. A no rewards card can still win on the annual fee, so weigh that against what you would earn back.
