Deposit protection means a scheme steps in and repays you if the bank holding your money fails, up to a stated limit. The scheme and the limit differ by country. 1822direkt, ABANCA and ABN AMRO Zakelijk sit under EU DGS, and 1822direkt states protection of EU DGS up to EUR 100,000. Acorns Checking's stated protection is FDIC up to USD 250,000. Read the limit before you park a large balance, because anything above it is not covered.
